Theakston's Award

Thank you for your votes for the Theakson's Old Peculier Crime Thriller of the Year Award for which Not Dead Enough was nominated. As you may have read, we just lost on the final judging committee decision to Stef Penney for The Tenderness Of Wolves.

As this is the third award in a row for which I have been a shortlisted finalist and not won, I'm beginning to feel like Martin Scorsese, forever being nominated for an Oscar and not winning! But hey, with wonderfully supportive readers like you, who needs awards...????!

Pity the books sold didn't have an
influence on the result, as you would have won hands donwn!!

    Sorry about the result..

I can't believe that your Roy Grace novels haven't won a prize but I have no doubt that they will. Unfortunatley I discovered them in the wrong order. I am very quickly getting through them and have read two novels in less then a month which is unheard of for me. The third I listened to on audiobook while walking my dog over the downs at Shoreham. I have Looking Good Dead to read next which I am saving until I can't hold out any longer. My favorite is Dead Man's Footsteps which kept me going until the very last word. Soooo clever, really looking forward to the next one and when will Roy be on our tv screens? Jacqueline Twamley

Thanks, Jacqueline. I'm so pleased you liked the ending of Dead Man's Footsteps. It is definitely the meanest ending I have ever written!!!!

    All best

I think this needs Roy Grace to investigate...

I loved the book and that last sentence - what a finish! Do we really have to wait 12 months for the next one?

Not that I'm impatient or anything!
