An Author For All The Family!

Thought I would share with you this wonderful photo sent to me by a fan, Carolyne Michael, taken on a family holiday in Cyprus last year - look carefully at their choices of beach reading!

The Michael Family
The Michael Family

One of the real joys of being an author is receiving fan mail, and a wonderful email such as this always gives me a real boost. Even more so around a nerve-wracking time like this with my new book just out - and struggling as ever against a deadline to finish the next!

So a huge thank you to Carolyne Michael and family, and to all those of you who have written to me over the years.

And now back to the grindstone....!

Great picture. The mother must be a saint to get 3 children to be still and quiet at once. tee hee.

If that gump Swartzinegger (good spelling, eh?) What madness to want to take books away from children. Does it mean he will give every household with children computers? I still have some of my childhood books.

Oh, how I look forward to sit in a chair in the sun reading a book during my holiday!

Any word yet on when the Dutch translation will be available? My holiday is in 4 weeks :-)

I'm guessing that it will probably be more like X-mas holiday than summer holiday....

Hi grumpy Jane-Mary - I could not agree with you more about Arnie!

Hi Marcel, me too, I long to sit in a deck chair and binge read! I do not know when the Dutch edition will be yet, but I suspect not until around Xmas, I'm afraid.

    Hi Dan

Thanks so much for this wonderful post! I've forwarded it to Macmillan to see if they can arrange signing - I did one last week at T 1 at Heathrow and would be delighted to do one with you. If you would like to email me directly on scary@pavilion.co.uk perhaps we could work something out - I am constantly travelling past Gatwick to and from London!

    Thanks sometime grumpy Mary!!!!!

Argh Peter... I am not a grumpy Mary but a grumpy Jane-Mary. So whats in a name? Alot. I do not think you are the Pete sort of guy.

Just remember that readers are very fickle. We move from one author to another. My 2 woman book club who read at least 6 books a week we have to look for new horizons. What is interesting is that my friend is German born and can still tell me that she didnt like the grammer. I also enjoy the corrections made by readers. Best proof readers.

I also wonder why we have to chose a book by the spine. Maybe we need a new design.

Comes back to *word of mouth* Best selling aid .

    ok . enough prattle.

Also I was in Brighton for the first time the other week on a stag weekend, regocnised a lot of places from the book! Hi Steve

Thanks for this really kind comment.

Twilight is one of my pre-Grace favourites, so hope you enjoy it!

No news yet on the TV front, but slow and steady progress being made behind the scenes. Will post any developments the moment they happen!

    Peter,

Thanks for the reply, cant wait for both the tv series and the next book, which brings me to the point, unlike in the other books, there was no preview of the next book at the back of Dead Tommorow, as I presume its not the last one, well at least hope its not! why was this? and can you give us a clue as to what the next book will be about? I also presume it will be released about the same time next year?

    Hi Steve

Don't worry, the preview chapters only go in the paperback, out in Nov and will also being going in the ebook, out then, too.

The next book is about a serial rapist in Brighton who takes his victim's shoes... be out next June. I have a novella, "The Perfect Murder" coming out in March .

    All best

    Dear Peter

I have just finished reading Dead Tomorrow on a Sony eReader. Yet again, a fantastic story, but unfortunately, every time there was an accent or even a pound sign in the text, the eReader put in some strange symbols, such as @. It was very distracting - I have tried contacting Waterstones, but have had no reply as yet. I have downloaded lots of books, including yours, but this is the first time this has happened. I wondered if anyone else has had the same problem.

I am very much looking forward to your next book!

    Best wishes, Sharon
