Vote For Peter!

I'm delighted that I have been shortlisted for two awards this summer, the Crime Writers Association "Dagger In The Library" which is voted for by librarians and the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel Of The Year, for Dead Man's Footsteps.

The Old Peculiar award is the only one in the UK voted for by the public. If you would like to see the full shortlist and perhaps cast your vote, you can do so by visiting The Old Peculiar Award polling webpage .

    Dear Mr. James,
Are you planning to resolve the issue of Sandy's disappearance in an upcoming book?
Also, I live in the U.S. and would like to know when Dead Tomorrow will be on sale here. (Regarding its cover, is anything ever going to be done about the West Pier? It's a great loss).
BTW, one of the joys I get from your books is reading about Brighton and Hove where I spent many years and my family lived. (My mother died in Hove 2 years ago and as she was the last member of my family I may not be back to visit in person--but just in spirit, through your books.
    Forgive my rambling comments.
    Thanks,
    Pauline Cohen

    Dear Pauline

Yes, I would never leave my readers in suspense for ever..! In the book I am writing now, some is set back in 1997 when Roy and Sandy were still to get and you will see some insights from her POV.

I don't know when Dead Tomorrow will be on sale in the US - should be able to tell you in a couple of weeks. You can get it right away from www.amazon.co.uk

I'm passionate the West Pier should be restored!

Not rambling at all, your comments are great and it is lovely to hear from you!

    All my best

    Peter

I was on a BA flight to Frankfurt from Heathrow on Tuesday afternoon when a stewardess remarked on my choice of reading, Dead Tomorrow and that she lived near to you. She was suitable impressed that I had met you at Crawley Library earlier in the year and that I have read all of the Roy Grace books. Thank you for many hours of reading pleasure. You certainly get my vote. Allan (Filofax)
