PJ Tops Brighton Library Loans!

I was delighted to learn that I was the most borrowed author in Brighton and Hove this past year, with Not Dead Enough hitting No 1 and Dead Man's Footsteps at No 5.  Let's hope they all get returned! I had an email from a reader to say she had brought one of my earlier, out of print, novels from Ebay, to discover to her horror there was a library stamp inside!   But, perhaps I should take theft of my books as a good sign of passion by my readership!  Those of you who follow me on Twitter might have spotted this amusing post from a bookseller two days ago:  "Sold 2 copies of Host today, to the same lady!1st one got stolen when she tried shoes in House Of Fraser! Thief of taste?!"

You really are popular with all kinds of readers. Wonder if the Host thief thought he/she was getting Stephanie Meyer?? Yours is much better :-)
I think that the customer who "borrowed" one of your books from our store, read it then returned it takes the prize. Looking forward to the new book sooo much.

I'm just setting off on the Roy Grace adventure - with Dead Simple. Had to wait a while for my name to rise to the top of the library reservation pile (including the copy designated for me going AWOL while in transit! Maybe it, too, will be appearing on eBay!!!)

Love the locations, btw - the 'out'laws live down there, so I can picture it all too vividly!!!

    Hi Peter

I have just finished reading Dead Tomorrow on a Sony eReader. Yet again, a fantastic story, but unfortunately, every time there was an accent or even a pound sign in the text, the eReader put in some strange symbols, such as @. It was very distracting - I have tried contacting Waterstones, but have had no reply as yet. I have downloaded lots of books, including yours, but this is the first time this has happened. I wondered if anyone else has had the same problem.

I am very much looking forward to your next book!

Hi Sharon, I'm so sorry to hear of this problem Could you email me this and I will forward it immediately to my publishers. If the ebook is faulty they will replace it for sure, but they would also be very concerned to understand what has gone wrong to prevent it happening again. My email address is: scary@pavilion.co.uk All best, Peter

Having now read every Roy Grace story and one other of your excellent books I am well and truly hooked! I am now the local offical Peter James / Roy Grace bore as far as my friends are concerned, except of course those who have now read the books. Any news on the TV Series? My partner Val and I are off to Brighton again at the end of the month to follow in Roys footsteps, so much fun!

    Hi Peter,
Was sent "The Perfect Murder" by your greatest fan and a very good friend of mine "bookwizz'.
She is so keen that I'm sure that she obtains copies of your books your publisher !
Enjoyed the quick read. Congrats. on the narrative. Must have been tricky with the literary limitations.

Thanks for your kind words - impressed with your friend's ability to get my books!!!! Yes, the Quick Read was a great challenge - much harder to write with these limitations than I had realized - but I had great fun with it.
